航空经济第一人:郑州会成为中国领先的航空大都市

  中国发展航空经济前景如何?

  河南商报:

  您在《航空大都市》一书中说,中国是发展航空城的忠实粉丝,中国目前在发展航空港上所取得的成绩也依赖于巨大数量的出口。目前中国不少城市都在大力发展航空港,您怎么看待中国航空港发展的情况?

  约翰·卡萨达:

  中国目前在全国多处地方大力投资机场,这是很明智的。因为,机场对于全球化、快速发展的21世纪来说,就如同18世纪的河流港口、19世纪的铁路、20世纪的高速公路一样,对国家的经济发展起到重要作用。中国超过三分之一的出口是通过航空运输完成的,而且现在中国航空出口量比海运量增长快得多。

  Henan Business Daily:

  As it was said in your book that "china have been the aerotropolis's most eager adopter",and "china's current success is built on its huge volume of exports."Currently,china has been promoting developing airports in several cities. How do you think the development of airports in China?

  Dr. John Kasarda:

  China is wisely investing heavily in airports throughout the nation.

  This is astute because airports will be as important to economic development in the globally-connected, speed-driven 21st century as highways were in the 20th century, railroads in the 19th and rivers and seaports in the 18th century.

  Over one –third of the value of China's exports already are shipped by air and the export value of China's air freight is growing much faster than its sea freight.

  郑州航空港应如何发展?

  河南商报:

  郑州是河南省会,位于中国大陆中部地区,也是中国重要的交通枢纽,是多条铁路、高速公路的交会处。郑州机场近几年的货运量在全国增长最快,去年还吸引了物流巨头UPS进驻,中部地区唯一一个保税区也设在这里。目前,郑州航空港经济综合实验区已经上升为国家战略,您能为郑州航空港提点建议吗?

  约翰·卡萨达:

  郑州位于中国最具活力的经济地域之一,具有完善的高速公路、铁路交通网,还是中国未来两条重要高铁线的十字路口。郑州拥有现代化的、日益面向航空货运的工业结构,当地政府明白并希望通过扩大郑州国际机场促进当地的经济发展,很有远见。

  郑州发展航空经济区,要将机场规划、城镇规划、商业选址规划结合在一起,发展出一个充满活力、可持续发展的以机场为中心的经济综合区。如果官方没有一个行之有效的规划,机场的发展将会变得随意、效率低下、缺乏吸引力、不可持续。

  郑州现在正面临一个好时机,如果有一个有效的发展策略,郑州将会成为中国领先的航空大都市。

  Henan Business Daily:

  Zhengzhou,the provincial capital of Henan Province, which is located in the central area of Chinese mainland,is one of the most important traffic hubs,where is the intersection of several railways and highways. The growth of Zhengzhou airport's cargo volume has been the top place of china in the past few years, and it attracted UPS to come here last year. The only tax free zone in the middle area of china is also located here. And "Zhengzhou Airport Economic Comprehensive Zone" has become a national strategy recently. Could you give us some suggestions or wishes about how to develop Zhengzhou airport?

  Dr. John Kasarda:

  Zhengzhou is strategically located in one of China's most dynamic economic regions with excellent highway and rail connectivity,including the crossroads of two of the nation's most significant future high-speed rail systems,with a modernizing industrial mix increasing oriented to air cargo, along visionary government officials who understand and wish to leverage expanding Zhenzhou International Airport or city and provincial economic development.

  This will require bringing together airport planning,urban and regional planning, and business site planning to develop an economically vibrant and sustainable airport- integrated economic region centered on Zhengzhou International Airport. Without a strategic roadmap for officials to follow,development outward from the airport can end being haphazard,economically inefficient,unattractive and ultimately unsustainable.

  Zhengzhou has an opportunity to "get it right" and become a leading China Aerotropolis if it creates and follows an effective roadmap.
